Pilates Tone & Stretch Series

New 4-Week Series Starts November 5th!

Join me for Pilates Tone & Stretch every Tuesday morning in November at The House of Now in downtown Courtenay.

Improve your flexibility, alignment, strength and mobility in this feel-good series.

Pilates Tone & Stretch is always a fan-favourite as it blends gentle yet challenging Pilates exercises with much needed stretches.

We'll begin with a sequence of Pilates-inspired movements that will increase your deep core strength, improve your balance and stability, and help to mobilize your joints.

After about 30 minutes, we'll dive into some deeper stretches with long, juicy holds.

This class will help you lengthen and tone your muscles while releasing tension around the tighter zones in your body (hips, hamstrings, shoulders, and back muscles).

After a few classes, you should start to feel a bit more open in your body and you may ever feel taller!

Classes run on Tuesday November 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th from 1045-1145am PST. Register today to secure your spot!

FAQs

Where is this class series located?

This class is located in downtown Courtenay at The House of Now, 536 5th Street. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the class begins so that you have ample time to find parking and settle into the space.

When does the class begin?

This series will officially begin on Tuesday, November, 5th 2024. We have a special rate for those who commit to the entire 4 week series, $60 or $15/class. If you cannot commit to the entire series, you can still drop-in for $18/class. If you plan to drop-in, please be sure to register online in advance so that we expect you. I would also encourage you add each class to your calendar now so you don't miss anything :).

What do I need to complete the classes?

Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle and wear comfortable clothing you can easily move around in. Everything else you need will be provided at the studio. I suggest practicing barefoot, but you are welcome to wear grippy socks or regular socks for warmth, if they feel secure enough for you on your mat. We will also use small props during each class, so if you have your own and would prefer to bring them, we'll typically use blocks, a blanket, and the long stretchy resistance band.

If I'm out of shape can I still participate?

Absolutely! This class is designed with all levels of fitness in mind, and will help you get moving consistently again in a way that feels great. You will get the most out of this class if you can comfortably get down onto, and up from the floor, kneel, sit on the floor and lie down on your front and back.

I will always provide different options and modifications if you body isn't ready to do certain movements. The goal is to move your body to the best of YOUR ability. We'll take it one week at a time and slowly create healthy movement patterns that will keep you feeling good long-term.

What if I still have questions?

Send me (Kerry) an email anytime at thekerryhemingway @ gmail .com, and I will answer any outstanding questions you have to the best of my ability. If anything is holding you back from getting started, I am sure we can find a solution together!
